Description
The Ice Age Trail Atlas features more than 100 color, shaded relief-style maps at 1:48,000 scale. In contrast to the smaller map excerpts in the Ice Age Trail Guidebook, each map in this book is printed on an 8.5' x 11' sheet and includes not just the Ice Age Trail route but also suggested connecting routes and a wider snapshot of the area around the Trail. Helpful icons identify parking areas, drinking water sources, restrooms and camping facilities. Different patterns of shading indicate topography, public lands and areas that are open to primitive camping. The last item is essential for those planning a backpacking trip. Whether you are just starting to explore the Ice Age Trail or are well on your way to becoming a Thousand-Miler, the maps in this book provide the critical wayfinding information you'll need to enjoy all the Ice Age Trail has to offer.
